A Signature Hydrafacial at THE MAC involves a three-step process to cleanse and extract, exfoliate, and hydrate the skin. This treatment uses customized tips designed to do exactly those things while providing comfort and eliminating clogged pores, blackheads, dull, and dry skin, and leaving you with a youthful glow. The vortex-fusion technology in the handpiece acts like a mini wet vac for your face but is much more comfortable. 

While the vacuum technology is sucking out the bad, the system is delivering amazing serums deep into the skin. At the end of your Signature Hydrafacial you will see everything that has been removed from your skin in the Hydrafacial’s unique suction canister. It’s pretty gross yet also very satisfying to know that none of that is dulling your complexion or clogging your pores. 

We recommend monthly Hydrafacials for multiple reasons. First, they help your skincare products work more efficiently and save you money over time by allowing those products to go directly into the healthy skin rather than having to fight and travel through layers of buildup. Second, our skin needs hyaluronic acid, and unless we are doing our multi-step regimen religiously, this is a sure-fire way to get massive amounts of ultra-hydrating hyaluronic acid into the skin. I mentioned the various steps of the Signature Hydrafacial above, but I wanted to give you all a little bit more information on what each of those steps really does. The first step involves cleansing the skin. This is obviously necessary as we don’t want to leave dirt and oil on the skin or have any of our serums have to fight through it in order to give you the best results. This step also exfoliates, removing the dry, dull dead skin that prevents our skin from looking young and healthy and causes our products to have to fight to get to where they need to go.

After we complete step one, we move on to extractions. These are much less painful than with a handheld tool, as the custom tip is designed to utilize the suction technology to help remove dirt, oil, and other impurities that are clogging our pores and causing blackheads and/or acne. There is also a mild peel component to our Hydrafacial. Don’t worry! By the time the treatment is over the peeling is complete, and you will not be walking around with flaking skin.

Step three of the treatment involves infusing potent hyaluronic acid serum into the skin until the point that the skin cannot absorb any more of it. We then follow that with either red or blue light LED therapy. The red LED lights target fine lines and wrinkles. The blue light targets and kills P.acnes bacteria which are responsible for acne lesions.
